Keep Your Chats Private By Disabling ChatGPT's History and Training Setting
ChatGPT, powered by OpenAI, has been sharing and saving users’ conversations to train its AI chatbot. However, this feature has raised data privacy concerns and has even led to ChatGPT being banned in some countries. If you're worried about your privacy and want to keep your chats private, here's how you can disable the Chat History & Training setting:
- Login to your ChatGPT account or create a new account.
- Select your account in the bottom left corner.
- Select settings to bring up the settings menu.
- Under Data Controls, select Show.
- Toggle Chat History & Training to off. Note: it will still take 30 days for chats to disappear.
By disabling the Chat History & Training setting, your chats will be deleted from OpenAI's systems after 30 days. This way, you can give ChatGPT all the gossip without worrying about anyone finding out your secrets.
