"ChatGPT Saved My Life (no, seriously, I'm writing this from the Emergency Room)" is trending on Hacker News.
In short, the post's author wasn't feeling well and went to see a physician. The physician ordered blood tests and suggested dietary changes. The author kept feeling off, asked ChatGPT about it, and also fed it their bloodwork.
ChatGPT noted that the author's platelet count was alarmingly low. Along with other symptoms, such as small red spots on the skin, there was serious risk of internal bleeding in the brain or digestive tract. ChatGPT ordered the author to go to the ER and told it what to say.
It turns out that the author's physician hadn't yet reviewed their bloodwork; and the care team said that they were going to get back in 2-3 business days.
