Google has recently unveiled its Pixel 9 series globally, including in India. The launch event took place at the Google campus in Mountain View, with a simultaneous online broadcast for a global audience. The Pixel 9 series consists of four smartphones: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Along with the smartphones, Google also introduced two sizes of the Pixel Watch and upgraded Pixel buds.
New Features and Upgrades
All devices in the Pixel 9 series have undergone hardware upgrades, with the integration of Google's Gemini generative AI across all products. The Pixel 9 smartphones and the Pixel Fold are powered by Google's Tensor G4 chip, specifically designed to handle continuous generative AI tasks efficiently.
The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro L share similar features but differ in size, battery capacity, charging speed, and price. These devices, along with others in the lineup, boast a refreshed design and new matte finish colors such as Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, and Rose Quartz. The upgraded camera system on both smartphones, featuring a 50 MP main lens and a new 48 MP Ultrawide camera for Macro Focus closeups, has already received accolades for its performance.
Pixel Fold and Pixel Watch
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold, priced at Rs 1,72,999, offers a unique multitasking experience with Split Screen functionality and features an 8-inch inner screen for enhanced productivity and entertainment. The device also comes with a year's access to the Google One AI Premium plan, unlocking additional AI features and 2 TB of storage for users.
Additionally, the Pixel Watch 3, now available in two sizes (41 mm and 45 mm), includes advanced AI capabilities for personalized run routines, readiness tracking, and cardio load monitoring. With Fitbit Premium integration, users can receive AI-powered run recommendations tailored to their fitness goals, along with a daily health and fitness summary.

Google has also introduced the Pixel Buds 2, designed for improved comfort and lightweight usage.
