Gemini 1.5 Pro with Deep Research Now Available Globally in More Countries and Languages
Google has expanded Gemini's Deep Research feature to over 150 countries and 45 languages. This addition complements the Gemini 2.0 family of AI models, with Deep Research currently integrated into the 1.5 Pro AI model. With Deep Research, users can create multi-step research plans, conduct web searches, and generate detailed reports on complex topics. However, at present, this feature is exclusively accessible through the web version of Gemini on desktop devices.
Availability and Subscription
The official Google Gemini App handle announced the global availability of Deep Research for paid subscribers. This means that Gemini 1.5 Pro with Deep Research can now be accessed worldwide in multiple languages, including Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dutch, and more. To access Deep Research, users will need to subscribe to the Google One AI Premium Plan, which also includes access to Gemini Advanced.
Google has specified that the Deep Research feature is part of the Google One AI Premium Plan subscription, which costs Rs. 1,950 per month in India and is restricted to users above 18 years of age. The availability of the feature may vary based on the user's device, country, and language settings.
Deep Research Functionality
As previously explained, Deep Research is an agentic feature that simplifies complex research tasks. Users can input queries that require in-depth or technical information, and the AI agent will create a comprehensive research plan. The agent then scours research papers, articles, and recent developments related to the query, enhancing the user's understanding of the topic.
Moreover, the agent can perform additional web searches to gather more insights, ultimately compiling all the gathered information into a detailed report. Users have the flexibility to intervene at any stage, making edits to the research plan or providing follow-up prompts for further customization.
