After the launch of Google Gemini 2.0, the company is shipping more features to NotebookLM. Google has introduced a redesigned interface, interactive audio features, and a premium subscription called NotebookLM Plus.

Josh Woodward, Vice President at Google Labs, commented on the promising future of NotebookLM, which started as an experiment in July 2023. The product team did not anticipate the level of success the tool has achieved. NotebookLM now offers smarter, more adaptive features to facilitate tasks like reading, chatting, and creating.

Interactive Audio Features

Users can interact directly with audio hosts through the new Interactive Audio Overview feature. This feature has been described as game-changing and has contributed to the product's viral success. NotebookLM Plus

The premium plan, NotebookLM Plus, brings additional features such as higher usage limits, custom responses, team notebooks, and enhanced security. Available through Google Workspace or as a standalone subscription, NotebookLM Plus is set to have wider access in 2025.
