Gemini Live AI Assistant Now Available In Hindi, Bengali And 7 Other Indian Languages
Google recently made a significant announcement at its 10th Google for India event, introducing a range of new AI-powered features. One of the key highlights of the event was the addition of support for the Gemini Live AI assistant in several major Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu.
Enhanced Conversation Experience
Describing the functionality of Gemini Live, Google stated in a blog post that the AI assistant responds in real-time, adjusts to the user's conversation style, and allows for interruptions, follow-up questions, and resuming conversations later. This makes it ideal for learning new concepts or engaging in brainstorming sessions.
Gemini Live facilitates natural and fluid conversations with the AI, eliminating the need for typed prompts or on-screen responses. While it operates similarly to the voice feature in GPT-4o on ChatGPT, Gemini Live supports up to 10 voices and offers the flexibility to pause conversations for a more natural interaction.
Hands-Free Support and Accessibility
Notably, Gemini Live also includes hands-free support, enabling users to interact with the AI chatbot even when the app is running in the background or when the device is locked. Initially introduced at the launch event for Google's Pixel 9 series in August, the feature was limited to Gemini Advanced users. However, Google recently announced that Gemini Live is now accessible to all Android users.
Additionally, Google rolled out significant updates to Google Maps, including the capability to provide real-time weather alerts for flooded roads and low visibility areas caused by fog. Moreover, Google Maps introduces a new AI helpful reviews feature aimed at assisting users in evaluating restaurant reviews and selecting dining establishments.
