Google is going to integrate its AI assistant into Android Car ...
Google has been working on integrating its Gemini AI assistant into various applications, including News, Gmail, and soon, Fotok. The latest integration will be with the popular navigation application, Android Auto.
Integration with Android Auto
The latest version of Android Auto, version 12.8.143544, discovered by Android Authority, hints at the inclusion of the Gemini AI assistant. The new mobile version of the assistant, named Live, is expected to be integrated into Android Auto. This integration is indicated by the presence of keywords like "assistant," "live," and the distinct Gemini icon.
Google's plan to integrate its latest mobile AI assistant with Android Auto is further reinforced by terms like "Start Conversation" and "GeminiLiveAssistantAction" found in the application's code. Users are likely to interact with the assistant primarily through voice commands.
Availability and Subscription
The Gemini Live assistant will be accessible to subscribers of the Gemini Advanced plan, which is part of the Google One AI Premium subscription. However, no specialized hardware is required to use the assistant, making it potentially available to all Android Car users who have the appropriate Google One subscription.
