Portuguese now supported by Google's AI - The Portugal News
According to ECO, Google has announced the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) personal assistant Gemini for Google Workspace to seven additional languages today, including Portuguese, allowing you to update your Gmail inbox in this language. This way, users can ask Gemini to show unread emails and manage their responses in Portuguese, among other features such as help write texts, summarise documents, create images and tables, among other features.
"This expansion makes Gemini for Workspace [Google’s productivity tool] increasingly accessible to more than a billion people whose first language is now supported,” says the technology company.
The functionality is now available in the Google Workspace side menu.
The ability to work in your preferred language goes beyond summarising and creating content. When you use the Gemini app (gemini.google.com) to research a topic or brainstorm ideas, you can choose to work in any of the 40 languages,” the technology company said in a post on its blog.
For example, during a video call on Google Meet, you can turn on subtitles translated into one of the 69 supported languages, regardless of the language spoken, and soon, “Gemini will also automatically translate messages in Google Chat,” they add.
However, since October, Gemini Live has been able to chat in Portuguese from Portugal.
