Google’s AI game just got a major upgrade in India with the expansion of Gemini, its next-generation conversational AI model. This follows the December 2023 rollout that replaced Bard, the previous AI chatbot. Gemini Advanced is the premium tier of the Gemini app, offering powerful AI capabilities to consumers.
It boasts the title of “longest context window” of any widely available chatbot, allowing it to process and understand massive amounts of information. With a massive 1 million token context window, Gemini Advanced now boasts the longest context of any widely available consumer chatbot worldwide. This allows it to process and understand vast amounts of information, from lengthy documents (up to 1,500 pages) and emails to even hours of video and extensive codebases in the near future.
Features of Gemini Advanced
Gemini Advanced is Google’s AI assistant that unlocks complex tasks. It understands tons of inputs at once, works in multiple languages, and costs a monthly fee. It can analyse up to 1 million tokens of information, which translates to roughly 1,500 pages of text, hours of video, or even lengthy codebases.
Gemini Advanced, along with the standard Gemini app, is now available in nine Indian languages- Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This opens doors for users who prefer to interact with AI in their native tongue.
Usage and Capabilities
Gemini Advanced can handle vast amounts of data at once. You can even upload multiple large documents, Google Docs, PDFs, and other documents directly to Gemini for generating summaries, answers, and feedback. Gemini AI isn’t limited to text. You can speak your queries or even take a picture and get help with the object in the image. It also supports uploading spreadsheets for faster data cleaning, chart generation, and deriving insights. Users can also edit and run Python code directly within Gemini Advanced.

Those subscribing to Gemini AI gain priority access to new and exclusive features, indicating ongoing development and continuous improvement of Gemini’s capabilities and offerings. It can be accessed via Google One Premium AI plan. While specific pricing details haven’t been revealed yet, Gemini Advanced can be availed through Google One AI Premium priced at Rs 1,950 monthly. This is the price of Google One AI Premium subscription which includes two months of free access to Gemini Advanced. Users also get 2TB of storage from Google One. Gemini Advanced is available in India.
