WhatsApp for Android Reportedly Testing Voice Messages Feature
WhatsApp for Android is reportedly working on a new feature for its Meta AI chatbot, which allows users to send voice messages. This feature, currently being tested with beta users, enables users to interact with the chatbot by sending voice messages that will be processed into text responses.
Voice Messages for Meta AI
According to a post by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the voice messages feature for Meta AI was spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.16.10. Beta users who have enrolled in the Google Play Beta programme will have access to this feature. The voice message icon can be found next to the text field at the bottom of the chat interface.

This feature is designed to help users who are on-the-go and may find it more convenient to send voice messages instead of typing out queries. Meta AI will process the audio messages and generate text responses accordingly. While Meta AI has always been capable of generating images, the addition of audio processing could enhance its functionality.
Double-Tap Message Reactions
Aside from the voice messages feature, WhatsApp for Android is also testing a double-tap feature for quickly reacting to messages. Users can double-tap a message to add a heart emoji reaction by default. This feature is similar to functionalities already present in Instagram and Facebook, offering users a more engaging way to interact with messages.
As of now, the double-tap message reactions feature is still in beta testing, with no official release date announced for the public.
