From Anticipation to Frustration: The Delay of Adaptive Brightness Control in V69PTC

Re: V68/PTC69 missing Contrast Adaptive Brightness... - Page 6 ...

This feature was mentioned briefly in the V68 release notes, alongside others like Meta AI. However, while all other features in the list seem to have rolled out, Contrast Adaptive Brightness Control is conspicuously absent. No Quest 3 owners running either V68 or PTC69 have seen the option themselves. Is it getting more time to test it internally? Is the rollout for this feature just especially slow for some reason? It figures that it's the one feature on the list that interested me at all.

Adaptive brightness control could be a nice feature for some dark low contrast scenes with no highlights that need full brightness. This feature was announced for V68, but even after updating to V69PTC, it is still not available.

Explanation for the Experimental Setting

Recently, Microsoft released their Windows app, which supposedly allows users to stream their desktop to their headset in the future. To test this feature, users need a work/school account to log in.

Unfortunately, there is still no sign of the adaptive brightness setting in the latest V69 PTC release as reported by users.

There has been speculation and anticipation regarding the official release of V69, hoping that the adaptive brightness feature will be included.

While there are no updates at the moment, users are eagerly waiting for any news about the missing Contrast Adaptive Brightness Control feature on their Quest 3 devices.
