Curious about the potential of AI in the realm of online dating, I decided to put ChatGPT to the test. I requested the chatbot to create a dating profile within the constraints of a 300-character limit, highlighting my love for my dog, recent travels to Egypt, affinity for red wine, and enjoyment of board games.
The generated profile came back as: "Dog lover, avid traveler (just back from an amazing trip to Egypt!), and red wine enthusiast. I enjoy quiet nights with a good board game and great company. Looking for someone who shares my passions and is ready for new adventures together. Let's make memories and laugh a lot!"
While the profile captured some key interests, it felt somewhat generic and lacked a unique touch that would make it stand out.
Next, I asked ChatGPT to craft an opening message tailored to a specific dating app user's bio, which mentioned being an engineer who enjoys concerts, basketball, and Mexican restaurants. The response was engaging but missed the mark by not capitalizing on the potential conversation starter of the Starbucks order mentioned in the bio.
