Campus computer lab innovates a new beginning - The Leader
Technology changes every day with new developments, requiring systems to help us understand and adapt to these changes. One such example is the transformation of the computer lab in Fenton Hall into Fredonia's Innovation Lab in November 2024.
The Innovation Lab, now located in room 115 in Fenton Hall, serves both students and faculty. It provides a platform for faculty to teach courses using the latest technology and enables students to enhance their learning and skills.

Features of the Innovation Lab
The Innovation Lab offers various opportunities for students, including 3D printing, communication skills and podcast development, drone piloting, as well as training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR). Students can also borrow laptops from the lab for their work.
Programs and Events
Additionally, the Innovation Lab organizes programs for students, such as "Artificial Intelligence: Google Gemini" on Feb. 4 and "Artificial Intelligence: Zoom AI" on Feb. 7. These programs aim to explore the potential of AI and its applications in enhancing productivity and meeting experiences.
The Innovation Lab is at the forefront of integrating technology into education and preparing students for the future job market.

Transforming SUNY Fredonia
According to Marketing and Communications, the establishment of the lab is part of SUNY Fredonia's strategy to enhance innovation on campus and distinguish itself among other educational institutions. Chief Information Officer Michel Kouadio emphasized the importance of innovation in attracting both students and employers, who value the skills and experiences gained from innovative institutions.

By providing new skills and experiences, the Innovation Lab equips students to enter the workforce with confidence and readiness.
