The Ray-Ban Meta Glasses initially debuted in the US in September 2023 and come with a price tag of $299. In the US, this translates to approximately Rs 25,500. While the pricing for India is yet to be revealed, the brand has confirmed its upcoming launch in the country.
With Meta AI integration, these smart glasses enable hands-free communication with an AI assistant, facilitate making calls, streaming music, and even going live on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. The collaboration with EssilorLuxottica ensures that Meta AI is seamlessly woven into all aspects of the glasses, allowing users to interact with the technology through simple voice commands.
Live Translation and Expanded Capabilities
Meta has also introduced new features for the Meta Glasses, including Live Translation. This feature, now available beyond the Early Access phase in select countries, allows users to have real-time conversations in multiple languages like English, French, Italian, and Spanish, without the need for Wi-Fi connectivity. Through the glasses, users can hear translations and view transcripts on their phones, enhancing communication across language barriers.
Additionally, users will soon be able to send and receive messages, photos, calls, and video calls directly from Instagram on their Ray-Ban Meta glasses. The glasses will also support various music apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Shazam, providing users with a seamless music experience wherever they go.
