Introducing Google's AI Clip Art Generator for Google Docs
Google Workspace is introducing a new Gemini AI-powered image generator feature for Google Docs users. This innovative tool allows you to create clip art-style images using the Imagen 3 model, making it easier to enhance your documents with visuals.
The Gemini-powered AI image generator is now directly integrated into Google Docs, providing a seamless experience for users. This new feature is akin to Microsoft's AI-generated art functionality in its Office products, offering a convenient way to add visual elements to your work.

Users with paid Workspace accounts that include the Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium add-ons will have access to this feature. To access the image generator, simply navigate to Insert > Image > Help me create an image in Google Docs.
Once you initiate the image creation process, a sidebar labeled "Create an image" will appear, allowing you to input a description of the desired image. Additionally, you can choose from different art styles such as "Photography" or "Sketch" and select the aspect ratio that best suits your document's layout.

The Imagen 3 generator used by Google promises enhanced detail, richer lighting, and reduced visual artifacts compared to previous models. This advancement ensures that the generated images are of high quality and visually appealing.
Users can also create full-bleed cover images that span the width of a pageless document, providing more flexibility in document design. The AI clip art generator in Google Docs aims to streamline the process of incorporating visuals into your projects.
Rollout Schedule
The rollout of this new feature will commence with rapid release schedule domains starting today, with a full rollout expected to take up to 15 days. Domains on a scheduled release track will begin to see the feature gradually from December 16th onwards.

This introduction of an AI-powered image generator in Google Docs marks another step towards enhancing the user experience and making document creation more efficient and visually engaging.
