Meta AI rolls out in UAE with Arabic support
Meta has announced the expansion of its AI assistant, Meta AI, to the Middle East and North Africa, empowering users across the region with advanced AI capabilities to enhance creativity, learning, and connectivity.
The rollout is now fully available in key markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, and Iraq, with more countries expected to follow soon.
Meta AI is integrated across Meta’s family of apps—Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger – ensuring seamless accessibility without requiring prior registration. The assistant can be accessed via its blue circle icon within these platforms and can also be used in group chats by simply typing ‘@Meta AI.’

Cutting-edge features
Built on Llama 3.2, Meta’s most advanced open-source large language model, the AI assistant offers a range of functionalities, including text generation, real-time research, and AI-powered image creation.
Users can explore Meta AI’s Imagine feature by typing "Imagine" followed by a description of an image they want to generate. For example, typing "Imagine a tiger wearing a vest drinking tea at a café" prompts the AI to instantly generate and even animate the image.
Arabic language support
Meta AI now supports Arabic, making it more accessible to millions of users across the region. This localisation ensures a broader audience can engage with the AI assistant in their preferred language.
Fares Akkad, Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa at Meta, highlighted the AI assistant’s impact:
“Meta AI is one of the world’s leading AI assistants, already available for free on your phone, making everyday tasks easier and more engaging. With Meta AI on track to become the most used AI assistant globally by the end of the year, we’re excited to bring its transformative potential to communities across the MENA region.”
Elevating Every Moment
To celebrate the launch, Meta has introduced “Elevating Every Moment,” a content series aimed at helping users maximise the potential of Meta AI. The series features regional creators like Yara Boumonsef, Amro Maskoun, Raghad Zamel, and Abdullah Al Sabe, sharing tips on AI-driven creativity, productivity, and content creation.

Additionally, Meta will roll out an educational series on its Meta Arabia page, providing guidance on how to craft AI prompts for various professional and personal tasks.
Next-generation features
Following the rollout, Meta AI is set to introduce more advanced multimodal capabilities, including:
- Already available in 42 countries and 13 languages
- Nearly 700 million monthly active users
- Rapidly becoming the most widely used AI assistant globally
