Elon Musk's TruthGPT: The Next Big Thing in AI?

Elon Musk Announces New AI Platform to Rival Microsoft's ChatGPT

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk recently announced plans to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) platform called "TruthGPT", which he believes could challenge the offerings from tech giants, Microsoft and Google. Musk criticized Microsoft-backed OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot, ChatGPT, of "training the AI to lie" and accused Larry Page, co-founder of Google, of not taking AI safety seriously.

The entrepreneur stated that the TruthGPT platform aims to create a "maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe," which will be "unlikely to annihilate humans" and will "target safety". Despite being a late entrant to the market, Musk believes that his platform can offer a third viable option in the market.

Elon Musk has been poaching AI researchers from Google to launch his new startup, people familiar with the matter have revealed. Last month, Musk registered a firm called X.AI Corp, with Musk being the sole director, and Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk's family office being the secretary.

Musk had previously stepped down from the board of OpenAI back in 2018, citing the need to focus on his other companies, Tesla and SpaceX. In 2019, he further tweeted that he also left the company because "Tesla was competing for some of the same people as OpenAI & I didn’t agree with some of what OpenAI team wanted to do."

Musk believes AI is dangerous, and in an interview with Fox News, he reiterated his warning that AI has the potential of "civilizational destruction," especially if used to manipulate public opinions. He has called for greater AI regulation and believes that governments, including Washington, should take action to prevent such a scenario from happening.

In conclusion, Elon Musk has announced the launch of a new AI platform called "TruthGPT" that he believes can rival the offerings of Microsoft-backed OpenAI and other tech giants like Google. Musk believes his platform will prioritize safety and aims to create a "maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe." Despite being a late entrant to the market, Musk is confident that his platform can offer a third competitive option in the AI market.
