Meta and Oakley Unveil New Smart Glasses Lineup with 3K Video Recording

Meta and Oakley have recently introduced a new line of smart glasses that build upon the success of Meta's previous Ray-Ban collection. These innovative glasses, housed within Oakley's signature sporty frames, come equipped with a front-facing camera, open-ear speakers, and integrated microphones. Once connected to a smartphone, users can enjoy features such as streaming music and podcasts, making calls, and interacting with Meta AI.

One of the key highlights of these smart glasses is the real-time visual assistance provided by Meta AI through onboard sensors. This feature enables users to identify objects and translate text seamlessly.

  • Support for 3K video recording

The new Oakley smart glasses cater to athletes with their durable design and advanced capabilities. These glasses will be available in five different frame and lens combinations, including options for prescription lenses. Introducing New AI Experiences Across Our Family of Apps and Devices

Meta's venture into sport-oriented wearables comes after its successful partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Oakley and Ray-Ban. With over 2 million Meta Ray-Bans already sold, EssilorLuxottica aims to achieve annual sales of 10 million smart glasses by 2026.

This is our first step into the performance category," stated Alex Himel, Meta's head of wearables. "There's more to come."
