ChatGPT Free Tier Users Can Now Generate Up to Two AI-Powered Images per Day
ChatGPT users are now able to experience AI image generation powered by OpenAI's Dall-E 3 AI model without the need for GPT-4o access. This feature is available to all users, as announced by the AI firm. Previously, only ChatGPT Plus subscribers had access to the Dall-E 3 model, which was released by OpenAI in September 2023.
In a recent announcement on OpenAI's Twitter account, it was revealed that the image generation capabilities of Dall-E 3 would be extended to all users, including those on the free tier. Users can now generate up to two images per day using the chatbot, with no compromise on the quality or complexity of the prompts used.
Creating Images with ChatGPT
According to the official announcement, ChatGPT Free users can now create up to two images per day with Dall-E 3. These images can be used for various purposes such as creating visuals for slide decks, personalizing cards, or simply visualizing concepts. The process is simple - users can ask ChatGPT to generate an image based on a specific prompt.
While OpenAI mentioned that the feature is being rolled out gradually, some users, including those at Gadgets 360, have already been able to access it. However, it may take some time before all users can make use of this new functionality.
How to Generate Images
Users can create images through ChatGPT via the web interface or the Android and iOS apps. Even if the GPT-4o AI model usage limit has been reached, image generation with Dall-E 3 is still possible.
On the web interface, users can access the Dall-E 3 interface through the side panel on the ChatGPT website or generate images directly within the chatbot. To get the desired output, users will need to provide a detailed prompt that includes information about the angle, lighting, camera specifications, and more.
For those who prefer a more streamlined process, writing a general prompt on ChatGPT will prompt the AI to generate a detailed prompt on the user's behalf to create the desired image. However, it's worth noting that the image editing feature, available to ChatGPT Plus users since April, is not accessible to free tier users.
