The Linux Foundation has made strategic moves to bolster its position in open source cloud and infrastructure technologies. Jonathan Bryce has been appointed as the Executive Director, Cloud & Infrastructure, while Chris Aniszczyk takes on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Cloud & Infrastructure. This dynamic duo will lead essential open source initiatives, including the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), where Jonathan Bryce will also serve as the Executive Director.

Jonathan Bryce, who also serves as the Executive Director of the OpenInfra Foundation, brings a wealth of experience in nurturing open source infrastructure communities. His new role involves setting the strategic direction for cloud native, AI, and infrastructure projects under the Linux Foundation. Bryce's focus is on driving sustainable growth and addressing emerging needs in generative AI, edge computing, and digital transformation.

Jim Zemlin, the Executive Director of the Linux Foundation, underlined the synergistic strengths of both Bryce and Aniszczyk. He expressed confidence that their combined expertise will inject fresh energy and alignment into critical open source projects vital for modern technology infrastructure.

Jonathan Bryce's new role as the Executive Director of CNCF puts him at the helm of over 700 member organizations and 200+ open source projects. He envisions a closer collaboration between CNCF and OpenInfra to better support AI, cloud native, and edge workloads.
