iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 1 With Image Playground, ChatGPT Integration, and More

The iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 1 update is now available for download on iPhone. Apple rolled out this update for iPhone on Wednesday, a week before the anticipated introduction of the iOS 18.1 stable release. This update brings more features powered by Apple Intelligence, the company's artificial intelligence (AI) suite that was previewed at its WWDC 2024 in May.

New Features in iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 1

The iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 1 update introduces various new features, including Image Playground, Genomoji, ChatGPT Integration in Siri, and other additions exclusive to the iPhone 16 series. Apple has made this update available for all iPhone models compatible with the iOS 18 update, particularly those supporting Apple Intelligence.

Image Playground is a standout feature of this update, leveraging generative AI to create images based on textual prompts. It also includes the Genmoji tool for custom emojis. Furthermore, there's an Image Wand feature that transforms sketches into related images in the Notes app.

Apple has integrated ChatGPT into Siri, enabling the voice assistant to provide more in-depth responses and insights about photos and documents. This integration enhances Writing Tools and allows for more refined text composition. Visual Intelligence, Apple's version of Google Lens, is now available for iPhone 16 series users.

Other Enhancements in iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 1

In addition to the AI features, the update brings changes to the Email app, which now has a new look and on-device categorisation system. Emails can now be categorized into Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions.

Apple has expanded the availability of Apple Intelligence to more English-speaking locales and made it accessible in various languages for different regions.
