Gemini's “Talk Live about this” feature is rolling out for the Pixel 9 ...
Virtual assistants can be helpful for various general tasks such as managing smart home devices, setting reminders, or performing online searches. However, Google has taken a significant step forward with its new Gemini “Talk Live about this” feature, which is now being introduced to its Pixel 9 devices.
Enhanced AI Interaction
With Gemini’s latest update, users of the Pixel 9 series can now engage with AI in real time in a whole new way. Previously, interactions were primarily limited to general knowledge discussions. However, the new Gemini Live feature allows users to inquire directly about images, documents, and YouTube videos via the AI assistant.
How to Access the Feature
To access Gemini Talk Live, users can launch the floating Gemini overlay on their Pixel 9 devices and locate a new suggestion chip related to the “Ask about” button. By selecting this option, users can pose questions to the AI assistant regarding videos, files, or images.
Availability and Future Rollouts
Currently, Gemini Talk Live is accessible on Pixel 9 devices running the Google app version 16.3.32 (beta). The feature is anticipated to become available on the Galaxy S24 in the near future, while the Galaxy S25 already supports the feature out of the box. More Android devices are expected to gain access to this feature in the upcoming weeks, in preparation for the launch of Project Astra. Project Astra aims to introduce features like real-time screen sharing and video streaming through Gemini Live.
