Alphabet’s Google Embeds AI into Search Engine
Alphabet’s Google has introduced advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to enhance its renowned search engine. Google is proud to present the all-new 'AI Mode' feature, allowing users to engage with an 'intelligent' Google Search.
Revolutionizing Search with AI
In a recent blog post, Google’s VP and head of search, Elizabeth Reid, shared insights on the incorporation of AI technology to facilitate seamless questioning on Google Search. This update includes support for more intricate, lengthy, and multimodal queries.
Last year, Google announced plans to reduce the usage of generative AI-generated AI Overviews in search results due to inaccuracies. Fast forward to today, Google embraces AI integration across its product range, aiming to revolutionize user experience.
Introducing AI Mode for Enhanced Search Experience
According to Reid, the introduction of AI Overviews garnered positive feedback, prompting the development of AI Mode for a comprehensive AI search encounter. AI Mode, currently available in the US without the need for Labs sign-up, offers advanced reasoning, multimodality, and the capacity to explore further through follow-up questions and relevant web links.
Google's AI Mode utilizes a query fan-out technique, deconstructing user queries into subtopics and executing multiple searches simultaneously. This innovative approach allows Google Search to delve deeper into web content, delivering hyper-relevant information to users.
Deepening Search Capabilities with Deep Search
Furthermore, Google introduces Deep Search within AI Mode, enhancing research capabilities by issuing hundreds of searches, analysing disparate data, and generating expert-level fully-cited reports swiftly. This feature aims to streamline research efforts and provide users with in-depth insights in a matter of minutes.
For a more comprehensive response, Deep Search offers a thorough examination of user queries, significantly reducing the time spent on manual research.
Google's Exploration into Smart Glasses Sector
In addition to AI advancements in search, Google collaborates with Kering Eyewear to develop AI-powered glasses featuring Android XR technology. This partnership aims to combine cutting-edge design, intelligent functionalities, and user-centric technology in a single wearable device. The move signifies Google's reentry into the smart glasses market, competing with other tech giants in the industry.
As Google expands its product offerings and explores new technologies, the tech landscape continues to evolve with innovations that redefine user interactions and experiences.
