Need Clarification on Using GenAI Activities in Enterprise VM – API ...
We are currently leveraging a UiPath Enterprise License in a client VM and are interested in incorporating Generative AI (GenAI) activities provided via the UiPath.IntegrationService.Activities package. These activities include capabilities such as Generating Content, Summarizing Text, and Detecting Objects. We have already installed the package and experimented with its features during a free trial on a local machine. Now, we aim to transition these activities to the client VM and have some queries that need clarification.
API Purchase and Billing
We have already installed the package and experimented with its features during a free trial on a local machine. Now, we aim to transition these activities to the client VM and have some queries that need clarification.

Do we need to purchase APIs directly from OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic and manage our own keys (BYOK)? Alternatively, does UiPath provide pre-integrated billing for these models? What are the pricing details associated with these APIs? For each model like GPT-4o, Claude 3.5, and Gemini Flash, what is the approximate cost or token usage?
UiPath's Approach to Billing
Does UiPath impose any additional charges on top of the model API usage? Additionally, which Language Model (LLM) is most suitable for enterprise automation? We are looking for recommendations on the most accurate and scalable models for tasks such as summarizing large documents, generating content, text comparison, semantic similarity, and extracting structured data from unstructured content.
AI Units Requirement
What do we need to procure to utilize these Language Models (LLMs)? To utilize these models, AI Units are necessary. Detailed information can be found here.
UiPath Billing and Integration
There is no requirement to individually purchase or subscribe to any services from OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic. UiPath handles all these aspects seamlessly. The consumption of AI units will be the only billing needed.
Choosing the Right LLM
Deciding which Language Model is best suited for enterprise automation requires experimentation to determine the best fit for your needs.

GenAI Activities consumption involves AI Units or Platform Units per execution, encompassing both design time and runtime executions based on your licensing plan. Once you have AI Units, you can explore and utilize the models that align with your requirements.
