Meta Is Rolling Out a Template-Style Generative AI-Powered Video Editing Feature
Meta has introduced a new AI video editing feature powered by its Movie Gen model. This innovative tool allows users to customize their short-form videos using preset templates. These templates enable users to modify the background, add various effects to subjects, and even change people's clothing. For a limited time, this AI-powered editing tool is available for free. Users can access this feature through the Meta AI app, Meta.AI website, and the recently launched Edits app.
The Rollout
Meta is currently rolling out these AI templates in select countries. Later this year, the company plans to enhance the feature by adding more functionalities to it. In a recent announcement in the company's newsroom, Meta revealed the launch of this new video editing tool. Interestingly, this feature is based on the Movie Gen AI model, which was previously teased by Instagram Head Adam Mosseri in a Reel last year.

In the video, Mosseri showcased the ability to alter various elements such as background, foreground, and subject customization using text prompts. Although the current version of the AI-powered video editing tool does not support text prompts, Meta has stated that users will have the option to incorporate their own text prompts later this year.
Feature Details
Presently, users can choose from over 50 preset AI prompts with the tool. These prompts allow users to create effects like a desert landscape, add formal attire to individuals, or give videos an animated appearance. It's worth noting that users can only edit the initial 10 seconds of their videos using this feature for a limited time. While Meta has confirmed the availability of this feature on the Meta AI app, Meta.AI website, and the Edits app in the US and several other countries, it has not yet been spotted by Gadgets 360 staff members.

There is no clear indication whether India is among the countries currently receiving access to this feature. Users who have access to the feature can directly share their edited videos on Facebook and Instagram through the Meta AI and Edits app. Additionally, they can share these videos on the Discover feed within the Meta AI app and website.
