Sam Altman has a crib recommendation — and it's not the Snoo
Sam Altman, a dad and OpenAI's CEO, shares his top baby gear picks for his baby son. One of his recommendations is Cradlewise's crib along with lots of burp cloths.
Cradlewise vs. Snoo
Altman favors Cradlewise over the more popular Snoo. The Cradlewise crib, priced at $1,999, is slightly more expensive than the Snoo but offers the advantage of being usable for a longer period.
Unlike the Snoo, which relies on motion, white noise, and a built-in swaddle to soothe babies, Cradlewise has a different approach. Instead of waiting for cries, it gently bounces the baby up and down to prevent fussing. It also includes a built-in baby monitor and music features, skipping the swaddle that the Snoo is known for.
Extended Use and Features
One of the key benefits of Cradlewise is its ability to be used for a longer time as the baby grows. While the Snoo is typically used up to around six months old, Cradlewise can be converted from a bassinet to a crib, allowing it to be used until the child reaches two years old or certain developmental milestones.
Radhika Patil, CEO and cofounder of Cradlewise, expressed gratitude for Altman choosing their product. She stated, "It means a lot coming from someone who truly understands the power of good tech."
Altman's Parenting Journey
Altman and his husband welcomed their baby boy in February, with the newborn requiring some time in the neonatal intensive care unit. Altman shared his deep emotions, saying, "I have never felt such love."
