OpenAI unveils new image generator for ChatGPT - Bangkok Post
San Francisco - Chatbots have evolved beyond just chatting and are now capable of generating images as well. OpenAI has recently enhanced its ChatGPT chatbot with innovative technology that enables it to create images based on detailed and complex instructions.
The new technology allows ChatGPT to generate images from various concepts, such as describing a four-panel comic strip with characters and dialogues. This advancement marks a significant shift in artificial intelligence technology, as chatbots are integrating chatting with additional functionalities.
New Features of ChatGPT
The latest version of ChatGPT, known as GPT-4o, has the capability to not only generate text but also respond to voice commands, images, and videos. It can even engage in spoken conversations, expanding its capabilities beyond text generation.
Previously, ChatGPT focused on analyzing vast amounts of text from the internet to answer questions, write poetry, and generate code. However, image generation was not within its capabilities until the introduction of DALL-E, a separate system developed by OpenAI for image generation.
Now, with the integration of text and image learning, ChatGPT can generate images by leveraging its vast knowledge gained from internet data.
Enhanced Image Generation
Gabriel Goh, a researcher at OpenAI, highlighted the unique approach taken in developing the new ChatGPT, emphasizing the seamless integration of image and text generation. Unlike traditional AI image generators, ChatGPT is adept at creating images that are novel and distinct from existing ones.
OpenAI announced that the new version of ChatGPT, incorporating image generation capabilities, would be accessible to users of both the free and paid versions of the chatbot. This includes ChatGPT Plus, a $20 per month service, and ChatGPT Pro, a $200 per month service that offers access to the latest tools from the company.
Despite legal disputes between The New York Times and OpenAI regarding copyright infringement, the new and improved ChatGPT is set to revolutionize the chatbot landscape by offering advanced image generation capabilities alongside its existing features.
