Chatbot Helps Artist Create Successful Crypto Coin in Just One Week

How an Artist Used ChatGPT to Create a Meme Crypto Coin that Hit a $44 Million Market Cap

An Australian digital artist, Rhett "Mankind," has created a meme cryptocurrency coin called TurboToadToken with the help of OpenAI's chatbot GPT-4, which cost him $20 per month. The artist has previously experimented with A.I. and has been working in the Web3 space for a while. With step-by-step instructions and dozens of lines of code written by the chatbot, he was able to create and launch Turbo cryptocurrency in just one week.

Despite his lack of knowledge about coding or smart contracts, Mankind was able to create a successful cryptocurrency with the help of his Twitter followers. He asked GPT-4 to help him create a token, and with the chatbot's help, they came up with the name TurboToadToken. GPT-4 also generated a space-helmet-donning orange cartoon toad for the logo.

Mankind was ready to build out the actual infrastructure, but he couldn’t because he didn’t know how to code. Instead, he asked GPT-4 if it could do the coding for him. The chatbot obliged, and they created the first version of the TurboToadToken, or TTT. After paying $500 on top of his initial investment of $69 to launch the token on the blockchain, mankind's first test failed due to a malicious bot purchasing nearly all the tokens.

However, after turning to GPT-4 for a new way forward, it suggested a crowdfunding approach in which investors would pitch in while receiving tokens proportional to what they contributed. The second launch was a success, albeit with a fresh set of investors and a new name, Turbo, and the token's market value rose to $44 million in just a couple of weeks.

The digital artist made Quantum Leap, the mascot, open to anyone's use through a Creative Commons Zero license and has renounced ownership of the smart contract so he can no longer alter the code. While he's still involved as a regular community member, some token holders have taken the initiative to list the coin on Dextools and run an art contest that incorporates the token.

Mankind admits that he's surprised by the coin's rapid success, and the success of this has put into motion all that work that he's done over all those years.
