WhatsApp Working on Voice Chat Mode for Meta AI on Android
WhatsApp is reportedly developing a voice chat mode for the Meta AI chat model on Android, as per WABetaInfo. This new feature is expected to allow users to have hands-free conversations with Meta AI. When the feature is made available, users may see a message prompting them to 'Hold to chat using your voice' when interacting with the Meta AI icon. Additionally, users may have the option to disable this feature if they prefer.

WhatsApp, a widely used messaging application, frequently tests new features on iOS, Android, and PC platforms. The latest development involves the creation of a voice chat mode for the Meta AI chat model specifically on Android. This feature was first identified in the Android beta version '2.24.18.18'. Although the feature is still under development, it has not been rolled out to beta testers yet.
Previously, the voice chat mode for Meta AI was also observed in the works within the iOS beta build. The company has been exploring options such as selecting a Meta AI voice and converting speech to text using the "Captions and transcription" toggle. According to reports from WABetaInfo, this upcoming feature could facilitate hands-free interactions with Meta AI.
