Google Drive gets Gemini AI "nudges" for Workspace users - Neowin
Google Workspace customers are now benefiting from new Gemini-powered nudges within Google Drive. These nudges, which are prominent buttons placed throughout Google Drive, provide quick access to Gemini-powered features. This includes features such as summarizing folders and files, inquiring about content, and exploring more about Gemini within Drive.
The introduction of these nudges coincided with Google's unveiling of Drive for Windows on Arm devices. To utilize these nudges, Workspace admins need to have enabled Workspace smart features. While these features are disabled in Europe and Japan, they can be activated by following the guidelines on this Google Help page.
Dynamic Display of Nudges
Even with smart features enabled, end-users may not immediately see these nudges since they are displayed dynamically based on the contents of their Drive. If folders are relatively empty, the nudges may not appear. Moreover, if the Workspace has not received the update yet, users may not see the nudges even with the features enabled.
Rollout Details
According to Google, Workspaces on the Rapid Release domain began receiving the feature on March 24th, while those on the Scheduled Release domain will have access starting April 24th. The feature is accessible for customers on Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, users with the Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on, Google One AI Premium subscribers, and those who previously purchased Gemini Business or Gemini Enterprise.
