Elon Musk Announces TruthGPT: A Competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT
OpenAI's ChatGPT has rapidly gained popularity since its launch. However, the AI chatbot is facing competition from other companies, including a brand new ChatGPT alternative named TruthGPT, introduced by Ex-OpenAI founder Elon Musk.
In an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk revealed that he is considering creating a brand-new ChatGPT alternative called TruthGPT. Musk hopes that the new AI creation will do more good than harm. He claims that TruthGPT will be a “maximum truth-seeking AI that will try to understand the nature of the universe."
Musk's vision is that an AI that understands the universe will also recognize the role of humans in it and as such won’t annihilate humans. His decision to create TruthGPT stems from his concern that the current AI market is unsafe and heavily controlled by companies such as Microsoft, which owns a significant stake in OpenAI.
According to Musk, OpenAI is a closed-sourced company, and it is unclear whether it is doing more good than harm. Musk also highlights his fear of AI and its development direction. He believes that OpenAI's chatbot is being trained to be politically correct, which is not how it should be.
However, Elon’s comments on TruthGPT suggest that the ChatGPT alternative might not exist at all and is just a concept for now. However, as time passes, and the AI race increases, this might change. Knowing Elon, TruthGPT might soon become a reality.
