Aidat Golf: The Future of Golf Broadcasting

SK Telecom will introduce new golf contents through artificial intelligence (AI) application

SK Telecom is set to revolutionize the world of golf with its new AI application, Adot. This innovative platform will offer a range of golf-related content, including the broadcasting of golf games using cutting-edge AI technology and the introduction of the 'AI Choi Kyung-ju' video series.

Introducing Aidat Golf

On the 13th, SK Telecom announced the launch of 'Aidat Golf', a groundbreaking golf broadcasting service that leverages Generative AI. The service will kick off with the 'SK Telecom Open 2024' tournament, scheduled to take place from the 16th to the 19th of this month.

The Power of AI in Golf

One of the key features of A-Dot Golf is the 'AI Caster' function, powered by Generative AI. This function utilizes real-time data to provide users with valuable insights such as shot success probability, golfing common sense, and weather conditions.

For instance, when a player is gearing up for a tee shot at a specific hole, the AI system can predict the player's performance based on historical data, offering viewers a glimpse into the player's potential success.

AI-Enhanced Viewing Experience

In addition to predictive analytics, AI also plays a crucial role in editing and presenting players' key moments during the game. The 'AI Highlight' feature generates videos of significant game highlights for each hole, seamlessly integrated with the scorecard.

SK Telecom has even recreated an "Aidat Corner" reminiscent of the famous "Amen Corner" at the SK Telecom Open 2024, showcasing highlights from all 144 players competing in the tournament - a first in Korea.

AI Choi Kyung-ju: The Virtual Golf Commentator

Adding a touch of innovation, SK Telecom introduces 'AI Choi Kyung-ju', a virtual representation of the legendary golfer Choi Kyung-ju. This AI version, serving as a special commentator during TV broadcasts, will provide insights on the leaderboard and offer course introductions alongside traditional commentators.

Future of Golf Broadcasting

Looking ahead, SK Telecom envisions incorporating AI technology into all future KPGA and KLPGA games, promising viewers a dynamic and immersive golf-watching experience like never before.
