Microsoft Introduces Bing Video Creator in Mobile App Using AI-Powered Tools
Microsoft’s Bing search is receiving a significant upgrade with the introduction of Bing Video Creator in its mobile app. This latest feature allows users to create short videos from text prompts at no cost, thanks to the integration of a customized version of OpenAI’s Sora AI. This move demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to leveraging AI technology for creative purposes and expanding its portfolio of AI-driven tools.
Currently, Bing Video Creator is exclusively available on the mobile app, but Microsoft plans to extend this free video creation service to the Bing website in the near future. Videos generated through this tool are limited to a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio and capped at five seconds in length.

Restrictions and Features
While the Bing Video Creator is a free service, it comes with certain limitations. Users can choose between two speed options for video generation: standard and fast. The fast mode, which accelerates video production, initially offers 10 credits to all users. After exhausting these credits, additional fast mode videos will require 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video. On the other hand, the standard mode allows unlimited video creation with longer processing times.
Despite being free, the service imposes additional restrictions. All videos created can be downloaded and stored for 90 days before being automatically deleted. Each video is watermarked to indicate that it is AI-generated, promoting transparency and traceability back to the original creator.
AI in Content Generation
The rise of AI-generated content is evident across various tech companies, with a focus on integrating AI into their products. Text-to-video conversion has become a popular trend, prompting Microsoft to incorporate this feature into Bing to facilitate video creation. This move not only enhances Microsoft’s AI capabilities but also strengthens its partnership with OpenAI, potentially bringing more advanced features to Bing.

Microsoft ensures that the implementation of Sora AI is safeguarded to prevent the generation of harmful or inappropriate content. While these safeguards may limit the AI’s functionality at times, they are essential for responsible technology use.
Future of AI in Creativity
While AI for video generation is still evolving, image generation AI has made significant progress, producing high-quality and natural-looking images. Many creators are already utilizing AI-generated images, leading to a proliferation of AI art online. With Bing Video Creator, Microsoft is signaling its entry into AI video generation, following the footsteps of competitors like Google with its Flow tool. The competition in this space is driving innovation and pushing AI technology to new heights.
