Does ChatGPT Give Good Relationship Advice? - The Post
Move over Dr. Google, there’s a new online friend in town. Turning to AI for relationship advice is fast becoming THE trend for 2025. But should we be relying on a machine to decide big life questions like “will leaving my husband be a great idea or a terrible mistake?”
The more we use Artificial Intelligence, the better it gets. That massive machine mind is literally learning on the job. Only a year ago, spotting fake AI-generated pictures—those with three fingers—was pretty obvious, but today not so much.
While AI is great at crunching numbers or speaking to other computers and eventually will replace relatively common jobs like data analysts or writing computer code, one area where AI isn’t that flash is reading human behavior.
When it comes to managing predictable machines, AI is in its element but interpreting the subtle nuances of human communication is always going to be a struggle. And to be fair, that’s something a lot of us still get wrong!
Challenges of AI in Relationship Advice
Fully autonomous cars aren’t allowed on the road because even those super speedy computer brains can’t always accurately anticipate just how humans will respond. If we don’t think an AI driver is safe enough for the school bus run, would we really let that same machine give us quality relationship advice?
At Straight Talk Australia Counselling, we have a strict no AI assist policy. We use real humans with real human experience to support our clients. We might not be good at generating algorithms, but we’ll look you in the eye as we guide you to make the right choices for you and your life.
If you’d rather speak to a professional counselor than ask a vending machine what to do, reach out to us at STAC.AU.
