Google Workspace users won't pay extra for these Gemini AI features
Google is making changes to how it offers Gemini AI features to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users. These users will now have access to six AI-powered features in Google Meet, Google Chat, and Google Drawings without the need for an additional Gemini add-on.
AI-Powered Features in Google Meet
Google Meet now enables Workspace users to create unique meeting backgrounds using AI technology. This feature allows users to customize their backgrounds to enhance the meeting environment or maintain privacy. Additionally, Google Meet has updated its image generator tool with a new AI model and various style options for enhanced user experience. You can read more about this update here.
Enhanced Video and Audio Quality
With the "Studio look" feature, Google Meet leverages machine learning to enhance video quality by reducing noise and increasing sharpness, especially beneficial for users with low-quality webcams. The "Studio lighting" feature optimizes lighting conditions during meetings by simulating studio-quality lighting, while "Studio sound" uses Gemini AI to enhance audio quality by balancing frequencies, ideal for users with Bluetooth headsets and dial-in participants.
Translate and Remove Backgrounds
In Google Chat, the "Translate for me" feature can detect and translate text in over 120 languages, streamlining communication across different languages.
Moreover, Google Drawings now includes Gemini's image background removal tool, allowing users to easily remove backgrounds from images within the platform.
Availability and Integration
According to a blog post by Google, custom background images, studio lighting, and studio sound features have already begun rolling out, with other features already available within their respective apps. Google is integrating these AI features into its core services for Workspace users, eliminating the need for separate add-ons.
Google's aim to streamline offerings
These AI-powered features are accessible to Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus users. Google aims to streamline its offerings by incorporating Gemini features directly into its services, a shift from standalone offerings to integrated AI features.
