Meta AI chatbot expands to 21 new countries
Meta has announced the expansion of its AI chatbot, Meta AI, to 21 additional countries, aiming to compete more effectively with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This move allows users to experience a more personalized and contextual interaction with the chatbot.
Currently, Meta AI boasts nearly 500 million monthly active users and will now be accessible in the UK, Brazil, and various countries across Latin America and Asia, starting Wednesday. New regions include Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, and the Philippines.
In the coming weeks, the chatbot will also launch in several Middle Eastern countries, such as Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen.
With this expansion, Meta AI will be available in a total of 43 countries and support dozens of languages, including Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese.
This means that more users will have access to Meta AI, which could become the most widely used AI assistant globally by the end of 2024. However, the expansion does not include the new character voices announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the Meta Connect 2024 event.
