OpenAI unveils ChatGPT Pro with unlimited access to its reasoning capabilities
OpenAI has introduced a new subscription-based exclusive model, ChatGPT Pro, that offers users unlimited access to its advanced AI models, including OpenAI o1, GPT 4o, and Advanced voice mode.
ChatGPT Pro Features
ChatGPT Pro is priced at $200 per month and includes a Pro-exclusive version of o1, known as o1 pro mode. This version utilizes additional computing power and advanced reasoning to provide optimal solutions for complex problems.
Additionally, OpenAI will offer a Plus tier for $20 per month, which provides early access to new features, access to all models, and other benefits. However, the more advanced o1 version is exclusive to the Pro tier.
Launch of Full Version of o1 Model
OpenAI has officially launched the full version of its o1 model, replacing the previous o1-preview. Initially released under the code name 'Strawberry', the new model is now available to ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with Enterprise and Edu users gaining access in the following week.
The o1 model is designed to reason through complex tasks and solve challenging problems in various fields such as science, coding, and math. OpenAI anticipates providing regular updates and enhancements to the model, showcasing improvements in generating code and addressing multistep challenges with increased proficiency.
Enhancements in the New AI Model
The stable version of the new AI model demonstrates significant improvements over the previous o1-preview version. Users can expect faster and more accurate performance, particularly in coding and math tasks.
In addition to improved performance, the model now has the capability to analyze and reason about images, showcasing advancements in its functionalities. It has also been trained to deliver more concise responses, ensuring quicker response times and an enhanced user experience.
Future Plans and Developments
In a recent interview with Financial Express, OpenAI's CFO Sarah Friar hinted at potential future revenue options for the company. While there is no active plan yet, OpenAI is exploring new avenues as it transitions to a for-profit model.
The company is also venturing into the online search market with an AI-driven search engine, aiming to compete with industry giants like Google. Recent reports suggest that OpenAI has onboarded advertising specialists from top tech firms, indicating a possible integration of advertisements into its flagship model, ChatGPT.
