The glasses feature integrated Meta AI and allow users to interact using voice commands. Users can say, “Hey Meta” to ask questions, stream music or podcasts, take calls, and go live on Instagram or Facebook. According to Meta, the product is designed to let users “stay present and connected to who and what they care about most.”

A key feature is live translation support for English, French, Italian, and Spanish. “Just say, ‘Hey Meta, start live translation.’ You’ll hear what they say in your preferred language through the glasses in real time, and they can view a translated transcript of the conversation on your phone or hear through their phone,” the company said. Offline support is also available when language packs are downloaded in advance.

Styles and Options Available

The collection includes the classic Wayfarer style in two sizes and a new Skyler frame in Shiny Chalky Grey. Buyers can choose from sun, clear, polarised, or Transitions® lenses, and the frames are prescription lens-compatible.

Meta AI App Integration

The glasses work with the Meta AI app, which was launched alongside the hardware. The app allows users to continue AI conversations from their glasses within the app’s history tab. “After importing photos from your glasses, ask Meta AI in the app to add, remove, or change parts of the image,” the company said.

Music Integration and Compatibility

The glasses also support music integration, including compatibility with Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Shazam. Users can say, “Hey Meta, play the latest Bollywood songs”, or ask, “Hey Meta, what’s this song?” Meta said the glasses are “the most exciting new hardware category of the AI era”.
