Job Trends of the Future. Will Your Job Still Exist in 2025?
Have you ever wondered if your job will exist in 5 years? I mean, really exist — not just change a little bit, but fundamentally exist? With AI, climate change, and economic shifts happening faster than ever, it’s honestly a question worth asking.
I’ve spent the last few days diving into the World Economic Forum’s latest Future of Jobs Report, and what I found is, well, fascinating. So, today, we’re going to break it down, and I’m going to share with you my key takeaways that you need to know going into 2025.
Workforce Transformation
First, let’s talk about scale. We’re looking at the biggest workforce transformation since the Industrial Revolution. We’re going through it right now — which is a lot to process.
The report analyzed data from over 1,000 global companies across 22 different industries, involving 14 million workers in 55 countries. So, it was very extensive. But here’s where I found it got really interesting — and optimistic. We’ll get to some of the non-optimistic parts in a bit, but let’s start with some positive news.
Job Creation vs Job Disappearance
By 2030, 170 million new jobs will be created. On the flip side, 92 million jobs will disappear. The workforce will grow by 78 million jobs overall.
