Meta, Facebook's parent company, has announced plans to invest $10 billion to construct its largest artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Louisiana, USA. The data center, situated in Richland parish, northeast Louisiana, will span 4 million square feet (370,000 square meters) and is expected to generate 500 operational jobs and 5,000 temporary construction jobs. Kevin Janda, the company's director of data center strategy, revealed these details.
Meta is also dedicating $200 million towards enhancing road and water infrastructure in the parish to mitigate its water consumption impact. As reported by The Associated Press, this investment is part of Meta's commitment to the community.
