Upcoming Voice Mode Feature
As per reports from WABetaInfo, the Voice Mode feature was recently identified in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.18.18. Although there is no official confirmation from WhatsApp regarding the release date of this feature, it is evident that the company is actively working on its development. Currently, the feature is still in the developmental phase and is not visible in the beta version of the app accessible to Google Beta Programme participants.
The interface of the Voice Mode feature, as shared by WABetaInfo through screenshots, demonstrates how users can activate Voice Mode by clicking on the Meta AI button and long-pressing it. Additionally, a hands-free mode can be accessed by tapping on the waveform icon next to the text field in the Meta AI chat. The screenshots also showcase a bottom sheet displaying the Meta AI Voice Mode interface, including options for speaker control, mute, and disconnecting from the voice mode.
Potential Features
Upon its launch, the Voice Mode is expected to offer ten different voices, presenting variations in accents, tonalities, and potentially genders. However, it remains uncertain whether the feature will support different languages.
