A recent report by Android Authority highlighted Google's development of this new Gemini feature. Evidence of the feature was discovered during the APK teardown of the Google app beta version 15.45.33.ve.arm64. Code snippets within the app hint at the upcoming Gemini Live feature, with strings referencing actions like “Open Live," “Talk about attachment," and “Open Live with attachment."
Enhanced File Interaction
The terms “Live" and “attachments" within the code snippets likely refer to Gemini Live and the files uploaded by users. This new feature will enable users to discuss and engage with their spreadsheets and documents through Gemini Live, providing a more interactive experience compared to the current text-based interactions.
Exclusive Access
The ability to upload files to Gemini and interact with them is limited to Gemini Advanced subscribers. It is speculated that Gemini Live support will be exclusive to premium users, particularly those using Android devices, as it is not accessible online.
Users can opt for the Google One AI Premium subscription, priced at Rs 1,950 per month, to gain access to Gemini Advanced features.
Recent Developments
Earlier this year, Google unveiled Gemini Live at the Google I/O event. In August, the feature was rolled out to premium members, followed by a wider release to all Android users the next month. Additionally, Gemini Live supports Hindi and eight regional Indian languages, enhancing the voice-based communication capabilities for a more inclusive user experience.
