Back in June, OpenAI announced that Mac users were getting a dedicated app for ChatGPT. Now, it’s coming to Windows, but not everyone is getting it just yet. Priority is being given to paying users of the chatbot, according to the announcement.

Said announcement comes via the official OpenAI account on X, which says that the Windows version of ChatGPT is available for Plus, Enterprise, Team and Edu users. Though the specific phrasing is that the aforementioned paying users “can start testing an early version of the Windows desktop app”.

This points to the early access being a beta test of sorts. No specific date has been provided for when the ChatGPT Windows software will be available to everyone. For what it’s worth, the OpenAI account on X mentions as a reply that all users getting the full experience later this year, of which there isn’t much left.
