Accessing Gemini AI on iPhone
The Gemini AI app provides iPhone users with direct access to the chatbot through text, voice, or camera input without the need to install the main Google app. According to Google, iPhone users can talk to Gemini in a conversational manner using Gemini Live. The app includes features like interrupting to ask questions or change the topic.
Personalization and Features
Users can personalize the voice of Gemini AI by selecting from 10 distinct AI voices and chat in languages like English, Spanish, French, German, or Hindi. The Gemini AI app includes access to Imagen 3, Google’s image generation model, enabling text ideas to be converted to images like on its Android phone counterpart.
Education and Learning
Google claims that Gemini will facilitate learning, providing tailored study plans based on user questions and adapting to their learning style. The app can also test knowledge through quizzes.
Limitations on iOS
There are some limitations to Gemini AI’s abilities on iOS compared to Siri. It cannot tweak settings or manage other apps and is restricted to interactions within Google’s ecosystem, including apps and services.
Availability and Languages
Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed the app’s availability on the Apple App Store. It is free to download for iPhone users and available in 13 languages worldwide, with more languages to follow gradually.
