10 Exciting Features Coming to Playstation Portal Users

Playstation Portal update aims to make connecting to public Wi-Fi easier

As technology evolves, companies are constantly seeking ways to improve user experiences. Sony released the Playstation Portal late last year as a way for PlayStation 5 owners to play titles remotely. However, the device relies heavily on a stable Wi-Fi connection, which can sometimes be challenging to find and connect to. Check out the Playstation Portal image below for more information:

Sony's initiative to simplify Wi-Fi connection

In response to this challenge, Sony is introducing a software update that aims to streamline the process of connecting to Wi-Fi from a phone or tablet. This update, set to release on June 19, will display a QR code on the PlayStation Portal when attempting to connect to a public Wi-Fi network that requires more than a password, such as a sign-in screen. Users can simply scan the QR code on their device to connect more easily.

Sony specifies that this feature will work with "a range" of public Wi-Fi networks and recommends a minimum connection speed of 5Mbps, ideally 15Mbps, for optimal performance.

Enhancements to the Playstation Portal

Alongside the Wi-Fi connectivity update, the Playstation Portal will also receive enhancements to its touchpad, providing users with new visual feedback. Additionally, users will now be able to view the device's battery percentage at the top right corner of the screen, offering greater convenience and awareness of power levels. Nvidia's ventures in artificial intelligence

Meanwhile, Nvidia, a prominent player in the technology industry, has inked a deal to deploy its artificial intelligence technology in data centers owned by Qatari telecoms group Ooredoo across five Middle Eastern countries. This move marks Nvidia's first significant launch in a region where export restrictions on sophisticated U.S. chips aim to prevent access to advanced AI technology by Chinese entities through Middle Eastern countries.

With this partnership, Ooredoo becomes the first company in the region to provide clients with direct access to Nvidia's AI and graphics processing technology, empowering businesses with cutting-edge capabilities. Learn more about it with the image below:
