Introducing Google Doc's New AI Clipart Tool
Google Docs has unveiled a new feature that allows users to seamlessly incorporate AI-generated clipart directly into their documents. This innovative addition utilizes the Google Gemini AI image generator and is conveniently accessible through the sidebar in Google Docs.
Previously, users were able to enhance their Google Docs accounts with emojis and standard clipart files. However, the introduction of this new tool significantly expands the customization possibilities for users.
How to Use the AI Clipart Tool
To utilize this new feature, users simply need to navigate to the top-left corner of their Google Docs screen and click on the "Insert" option. From there, selecting "Image" will prompt an option to "Help me create an image." Users can then input their AI image prompt and choose to add a style from the dropdown menu, such as "photography," "sketch," or "watercolor." Finally, users can create the customized image by clicking "Create."
Additionally, users have the flexibility to select between square, horizontal, or vertical aspect ratios for their images. They can also create full-bleed cover images that span the width of a page-less document.
Availability and Updates
According to The Verge, the AI image generator will initially be accessible to paid Workspace accounts that include specific add-ons. Release schedule domains are expected to receive the update first, with a gradual roll-out starting on December 16.
This enhancement builds on the recent introduction of Gemini 1.5 Pro to Google's Workspace apps, as announced earlier in the year. The implementation of advanced AI capabilities aims to provide users with more insightful responses across various Google Workspace platforms.
