ChatGPT-created pizza pans out to be a hot favorite - AI & Robotics
Dubai has a new pizza topping the charts, and it’s not your usual pepperoni and cheese. Dodo Pizza has been serving a recipe cooked up by ChatGPT, and it’s proven to be a little slice of heaven.
Developed with the help of the AI chatbot, this unique pizza brings together flavors from across culture, a reflection of Dubai’s rich diversity. To make it, the robotic chef suggested ingredients like Arab shawarma chicken, Indian grilled paneer cheese, and Middle Eastern Za’atar herbs, with tahini cheese tying the whole ensemble together.
The pie is a celebration of the city’s multicultural identity, all wrapped up in crust. Spartak Arutyunyan, head of menu development at Dodo Pizza, said he wanted to recreate the melting pot of nationalities in Dubai. With residents hailing from India, Pakistan, the Middle East, and beyond, Arutyunyan wanted a recipe that spoke to a variety of tastes.
The resulting combination is something Arutyunyan admits he wouldn’t have thought of on his own, but it’s not just a half-baked idea but a crowd-pleaser.
Unsurprisingly, not all of ChatGPT’s recommendations made it to the menu. Some of its kookier ideas, like strawberries paired with pasta or blueberries mixed into breakfast cereal, were rejected. But the shawarma and paneer invention shows that sometimes, there’s merit in thinking outside the (chat)box.
