OpenAI Hits 1 Million Paid Users for ChatGPT

Just under half of OpenAI's corporate users are based in the US. OpenAI has now surpassed 1 million paid users for the corporate versions of ChatGPT, showcasing the increasing demand from businesses for its chatbot solution amidst fierce competition.

Growth in Corporate Users

San Francisco-headquartered OpenAI revealed on Thursday that the 1 million user milestone encompasses individuals subscribed to its ChatGPT Team and Enterprise services tailored for companies, as well as users in educational institutions leveraging its ChatGPT Edu offering. This achievement marks a substantial rise from the 600,000 corporate ChatGPT users reported in April, excluding Edu which was introduced later in May.

Product Enhancements and Expansion

OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Enterprise a year ago, featuring enhanced functionalities and privacy measures, aiming to drive revenue and offset the expenditures associated with developing AI products.
